Build rainwater storage

In May 2023 during a visit we found that our agriculture development was being badly affected by excess water running from the rainwater trenches over the crops. To alleviate the issue and conserve some rainwater for the plants in other areas of the site, we decided to extend the trench down to a large underground concrete storage tank.

The initial excavation of the water tank area went well with the local workmen making good progress. However it wasn’t long before we realised that the ground water table was significantly higher than we estimated. As a result what was planned to be a 50 thousand litre tank has ended up at 30 thousand litres !

Nevertheless it has proved successful in controlling the flow of water and providing a supply as we planned.
