A key project in our self sustainability development is the running of a fish farming business. The successful completion of the project will enable Larchfield to earn enough money to pay for staff and general running costs.
The first stage of the project is to build two 20m x 20m tanks that will be used to grow the tilapia fish. We are assisted in this project by Eden Fisheries who run a successful fish business and have agreed to work with us to develop our expertise.
The building of these two tanks and the start of this important project has been made possible by the very generous donations from Brian Wilkie and Natalie Crampton. Both Brian and Natalie have been so supportive not just from a funding standpoint but also in their active project support.
Once the tanks are complete we will be undertaking some water flow exercises to check our operations in maintaining clean water for the fish then we will introduce the fingerlings.
Further updates on progress will be posted.
